Lukashenka’s plane made a mysterious stop in Venezuela

Boeing 767 300ER landed in Ecuador’s capital. Nevertheless, the airport’s staff has no information about any breakage of the plane.

Journalists from Euroradio made a phone call to Quito and found out that the superplane of the Belarusian leader had already landed in Ecuador’s capital.

“It is 7 a.m. now, the airplane is in our airport. The landing was successful. We have no information about any breakage. That’s all there is to tell,” the airport’s official representative said.

Charter97.org has already reported that yesterday Aliaksandar Lukashenka and his retinue had arrived to Ecuador on his old Boeing 737. It is a Venezuelan aircraft; Hugo Chavez hasn’t used it since 2002.

The Belarusian TV-channels did a good job cutting out the frames where Lukashenka is leaving the plane. But the footages of international photo agencies and the Ecuador television clearly show the Belarusian leader leaving the Venezuelan airliner.

Different versions of why the luxurious Boeing 767 300ER was left in Karakas have appeared online. Some say that the runway in Quito’s airport is unsuitable for such large planes, some say that the Boeing was broken. There is also a ridiculous version that the Belarusian leader being a “zealous” governor used a cheaper alternative in order to save the nation’s money.

However, the most popular version is that the plane made a stop in Venezuela to load or unload something which couldn’t be shipped in another way. It is more probable that something was unloaded, since the plane eventually came to Ecuador.

This is not the first mysterious flight of a presidential aircraft. Aliaksandar Lukashenka who is obsessed with the risk of murder attempts and any life threats, headed to Belgrade right before the bombings. There were similar direct flights to Libya and Syria, suspicious visits by the leaders of Venezuela, Sudan and Iraq who also came to Belarus without an international control.
