“Beltelecom” blocks Charter97.org real-time

National communication operator launched the system of specialized DNS-servers.

Thanks to it the largest internet-provider will be able to monitor traffic and block the access to certain websites real-time.

This was reported today to the journalists by Sergei Popkov, the CEO of “Beltelecom”, reports BelTA.

On his words, “Beltelecom” built a system of specialized DNS-servers this spring, now it is fully functional. “Its main objective is to protect the consumers from the traffic which neither they nor their children require. This concerns, above all, websites with child pornography and websites that belong to terrorist groups”, - explained the General Director.

There are so called lists of restricted access, formed by the Inspectorate for Supervision of the Telecommunications exist in Belarus, according to which the access to undesirable websites is blocked for users from state institutes, educational and cultural institutions. Despite the declarations on fight against pornography and terrorism, the independent news resources Charter97.org and “Belaruski Partizan” appeared in these lists among the first. At the present time the black list contains about 80 websites.
