In Moscow demanded the release of political prisoners (Photo)

At the last rally, held on July 26 in Moscow, talked about Belarus.

Yuri Dzhibladze, the President of the Center for Democracy and Human Rights, came to the microphone in a T-shirt with a portrait of arrested Belarusian human rights activist Ales Bialiatski. He said that Putin is scared by democratic achievements of the neighbors, while he has friendship with dictators. President of Russia, according to the human rights activist, tends to build an authoritarian empire on the territory of the former Soviet Union, writes BelaPAN.

"The country that Putin is trying to use the most actively and the country he is trying to copy - Belarus - said Dzhibladze. - Gross violations of human rights become usual in Belarus. But at the same time, the civil society in Belarus is one of the most powerful on the post-Soviet space". Dzhibladze read out the names of Belarusian political prisoners.

The Russian president is trying to learn from the experience of Aliaxandar Lukashenka, said the executive director of the Movement "For Human Rights" Lev Ponomarev. "There is no political opposition in Minsk - said the activist. - Putin is also trying to get rid of political opposition and, thus, stay in power".

According to various estimates, from 800 to 3000 people attended the rally in Novopushkinsky Park in Moscow. The rally was organized by the "Committee of May 6", which was created by civil activists and representatives of various social and political movements in order to "oppose political repressions of the participants of the democratic protests in the Bolotnaja Square in Moscow on May 6, 2012". That day in the Russian capital happened multiple clashed of participants  of the “March of millions" with the police, who detained hundreds of people. The march was timed to coincide with the inauguration of Putin's presidency, held the next day.

It was said in the flyers, distributed at the committee meeting on July 26, that for the participation in the march were arrested 12 people, two are under house arrest. According to “fabricated criminal cases", they face up to 10 years imprisonment.
