Anastasia Palazhanka has been removed from police records

Deputy Chairman of the "Young Front" Anastasia Palazhanka has been removed from police records.

This girl has learned during her visit to the police department of Pervomaisky  district of Minsk.

"I was acquainted with the fact that I was removed from the register due to ... expunging criminal records. Or how is it called? Probation is completed! And am I in criminal records or not - what's the difference in this country?" – wrote Anastasia Palazhanka on "Facebook”.

As charter97.org reported previously, after protests against the falsified presidential election on December 19, 2010, Anastasia Palazhanka was arrested. The capture of the 20-year-old girl was carried out by fifteen KGB officers at 3 a.m. She was charged with "organizing and participating in riots". On February 17, in the evening, Anastasia Palazhanka was released on bail. On March 8 she became the first Belarusian woman to be awarded with the International Prize for women's courage, which was presented by U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. On March 30 the accusation has been changed to the Art. 342, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (organization of activities that breach public order or participation in them).

On May 20 the judge of the Frunze district court of Minsk Zhanna Zhukovskaya voiced the sentence to Anastasia Palazhanka - 1 year probation. She also sentenced Vladzimir Nyaklyayeu to 2 years imprisonment (postponed for 2 years), and Sergei Wazniak, Aliaxandar Feduta, Vital Rymasheuski, Andrei Dmitriev to 2-year suspended sentence. To probation also were sentenced Irina Khalip and several other politicians and public figures.

Recall, for participating in protests against election fraud were sentenced more than 40 people to restriction or deprivation of liberty, unprecedented prison terms received presidential candidates and activists of their teams - from 2 to 6 years.

Under the influence of sanctions of the West and in connection with the disastrous state of Belarussian economy, dictator Lukashenka was forced to release some of the political prisoners. In April 2012 were released the former presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov and coordinator of the civil campaign "European Belarus" Dmitri Bondarenko, who was in prison for almost half a year.

The presidential candidate Nikolai Statkevich, the leader of "Young Front" Dmitri Dashkevich, entrepreneur Mikalai Autukhovich, human rights activist Ales Belyatsky and 10 other opposition activists continue to remain in prison. Some people continue to serve his suspended sentences.

The international community and human rights organizations demand the release of Belarusian prisoners of conscience. The European Union and the United States imposed visa and economic sanctions against supporters of the dictator - officials and businessmen involved in carrying out repressions and financial support of the regime - in order to achieve the release of the remaining political prisoners.
