Flight tracking website blocked in Belarus

Website administrators suppose it may be connected to the teddy bear “assault”.

Fligthradar24 project was founded in 2007 by Sweden-based Travel Network company. It shows live air traffic around the world and allows to get information about types of aircrafts, tail numbers, belonging  to an air company, origination, destination point, altitude and speed.

Flight tracking was also available in Belarus. Now, clients of a number of Internet service providers have troubles with access to the website.

The project administrators comment on restricted access on Twitter: “Could the FR24 blocking by Belarus government be a revenge for the Swedish Teddy Bear Stunt? Number of Belarus visitors down by 90%.”
