Lithuania does not believe the Belarusian KGB

Vilnius will not provide Minsk with details about the "Swedish Troopers", if he sees political motives in prosecutions.

This what the chairman of the Committee on National Security and Defense of Lithuanian Seimas Arvydas Anushauskas said to “Euroradio”.

According to him, Lithuanian politicians take into account the negative experience of the case of Ales Bialiatski.

The criminal case against the Belarusian human rights defender was initiated on the basis of information received from Lithuania. Now their opinion on such requests must provide several institutions.

"In this case, I think, will also be taken into account the fact that in connection to this incident had been detained several people. Despite the fact that the Swedish pilots and the organization, which organized the flight, deny any part of involvement of Belarusian citizens in this rally. Therefore, if our institutions will see any political motivation in these prosecutions, the information may not be granted", - said Arvydas Anushauskas.

Recall, on July 4, Belarusian border, unnoticed by Belarusian Air Defense system, crossed light Swedish airplane. Over the outskirts of Minsk, and the city of Ivyanets the pilots dropped teddy bears with placards in support of freedom of speech in Belarus. On the fact of illegal border crossings the KGB opened a criminal case under the Part 3, Article 371 of the Criminal Code. On suspicion of aiding and abetting in the commission of a crime were detained citizens of Belarus Siargei Basharimau and Anton Suryapin, who were charged under the Part 6, Article 16 (aiding and abetting in the commission of a crime) and Part 3, Article 371 (illegal crossing of the state border of Belarus) of the Criminal Code.

KGB sent subpoenas to the Swedish pilots to summon them in Minsk for testification as suspects and addressed to Lithuania with the request to provide legal assistance in the investigation of violation of the Belarusian border by the light airplane.
