Member of the opposition withdrew his candidature from the "elections"

UCP activist Uladimir Katsora has refused to be a candidate for "deputy" in the Gomel-industrial constituency number 35.

"I just gave a statement to the committee that I will not continue to participate in the so-called "elections ", as there are still political prisoners in prisons and none of the thirty nominees of the UCP have not been included in the district election commissions. I believe that it is time to fulfill promises - withdraw from the ballot, if previously voiced conditions have not been performed", - said Uladimir Katsora "to Radio Svaboda".

On August 22 commission have registered him as a candidate in that district. Prior to this, Uladimir Katsora said that he agreed to take part in the "elections" in the absence of political prisoners in the country and the inclusion of all 30 members of UCP to the election commissions. This the politician write in leaflets that were distributed in the Sovetski district of Gomel in the beginning of this year.
