Raman Yakauleuski: Minsk starts massive pressure on Vilnius

Lukashenka's words that “Lithuania won't find it funny” are coming true.

Political observer Raman Yakauleuski expressed this opinion in an interview for charter97.org commenting on a decision of the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court to unfreeze bank accounts of Belarusian oligarch Vladimir Peftiev.

“I think one should not compare Belarusian and Lithuanian courts. Justice system has a different reputation in Lithuania, but the case of Peftiev shows how this reputation as well as legal assistance obligations, which sometimes were not mutual with Belarus, can be used. A vivid example is a scandal with Bakiyev. It's obvious that the decision of the Lithuanian court may be a beginning of the massive pressure exerted on Vilnius by Minsk ahead of the election to the Seimas, important for Lithuania, and not less important for others 'election' to the Belarusian parliament.

In fact, Lukashenka's words 'Lithuania won't find it funny' are coming true and adding adrenaline to his further actions, especially in the run-up to severe sanctions against the regime that are said to be imposed in October,” Raman Yakauleuski told charter97.org.
