Milinkevich gets final refusal from Yarmoshyna

The Central Election Committee (CEC) denied a complaint by Alyaksandr Milinkevich against refusal to register him as a parliamentary candidate.

An election commission of Uruchcha constituency denied registration to Milinkevich due to violations in the signature collection procedure and failure to mention a land plot as his property, Interfax news agency reports.

The CEC found ungrounded the decision of the constituency election commission regarding the violations in his tax return.

But the CEC says a complaint that over 15% of signatures in nomination papers were invalid was a ground to deny registration to Milinkevich.

On August 28-30, the CEC sustained12 out of 53 complaints filed by unregistered candidates.

On August 28, the CEC registered Lyudmila Dzenisenka, a member of the Belarusoian Left Party Fair World, as a parliamentary candidate. On August 29, Yahor Lebyadok, a junior research fellow at the Institute of Physics of the National Academy of Science, Fair World member Artur Eshbayeu and UCP member Uladzimir Malyarchuk were registered as candidates.  

The CEC considered 26 complaints and sustained 7 ones today. Among the registered candidates an activist of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Party Volha Kavalkova, who was nominated by the UCP; UCP member and former defence minister Pavel Kazlouski; Fair World member Aleh Kvitko; a technical worker at a housing and utility office in Minsk Pavel Spiryn; member of the Liberal Democratic Party actor Yauheny Kryzhanouski; BPF party member Syarhei Karpovich; assistant professor at Training and Refresher Training  Institute at Belarusian National Technical Univesrity Lyubou Somchanka.

Activist of Tell the Truth campaign Mikhail Pashkevich, psychotherapist Alyaksei Khadorkin, ecologist Heorhy Lepin and other were denied registration.
