NADA: Doping in food of Astapchuk was added by her coach

Confession of the coach was obtained as a result of the investigation.

This was announced at a press conference in Minsk on Tuesday by the Director of National Anti-Doping Agency Aliaxandar Vanhadla, wrote "Interfax".

“We have received a confession that the coach Aliaxandar Yiafimau, being afraid of a low result, added prohibited substance to the food of the athlete without her knowledge. This probably happened on July 30, at the training base," - said Vanhadla.

Based on the results of the investigation, explanations of Astapcuk, and the confessionof the coach, it was decided to disqualify Aliaxandar Yiafimav for 4 years, said Vanhadla. "Given the non-acquaintance of Astapchuk that she was taking a prohibited substance, it was decided to consider the situation exceptional. There is no guilt of Astapchuk here, so it was decided to disqualify Astapchuk for one year," - continued the head of NADA.

As the Vanhadla has noted, Astapchuk said that if she will be disqualified for one year, at the end of this period, she will continue trainings. "For such athlete as Astapchuck three years of preparation for the next Olympic Games will be enough," - said the director of NADA.

Recall that in mid-August, the International Olympic Committee posted information at his website that Astapchuk, who has won the gold medal in London, is disqualified for doping.

The IOC said that the doping test of the Belarusian athlete discovered the drug methenolone, included as prohibited for use by athletes.

Valerie Adams (New Zealand) was declared an Olympic champion, who took second place in the competition. The silver winner has become Russian Evgeniya Kolodko, who previously had the third result. Bronze Award went to Chinese woman Gong Lijiang, who previously occupied the fourth place.

After this information published by the IOC, NADA began to conduct an investigation in connection with disqualification of Astapchuk for the use of doping.
