Dashkevich again faces tortures in jail?

The administration of the detention facility in Vitebsk didn't allow a lawyer to see a political prisoner.

“According to the detention facility head, there were two reasons to forbid the lawyer to meet with Dashkevich. The first one is that they didn't have a document saying the sentence came into force. In real case, the sentence came into force already on Tuesday, but it's not our problem if they don't have an appropriate document,“ says Anastasia Palazhanka, Young Front deputy head and Dashkevich's fiancée.

“Secondly, they said Dashkevich hadn't applied for a meeting with a lawyer. It's not true. Zmitser filed two applications when he was in the penal colony in Hlybokae. He sent one of them by mail and asked to attached the other one to his file. These applications were either thrown away in Hlybokae, or the head of the Vitebsk detention facility lies,“ she said.

A similar situation occurred last year. Dashkevich didn't have access to his lawyer in the detention facility. The jail administration seem to have something they want to hide, mfront.net reports.

Dashkevich is in Vitebsk waiting for a transfer to a prison to serve his new sentence. He got one year of imprisonment at the closed trial in Hlybokae penal colony.
