Belarus will ask a new IMF loan after the "elections"

Official Minsk will resume negotiations with the International Monetary Fund on financial cooperation in October 2012.

This was said today to journalists by the head of the National Bank of Belarus Nadezhda Yarmakova, informs BelTA.

Replying to a question, whether the resumption of negotiations with the IMF is being discussed, Nadezhda Yarmakova said: "It is. In the beginning of October we will participate in the annual general meeting of the IMF and the World Bank in Tokyo. We have a number of meetings. And in October, the mission is coming to us, so we will have a chance to speak."

According to Nadezhda Yarmakova, Belarus' proposal to the IMF are the same.

However, the head of the National Bank noted that it is not so simple. "Last summer, when the mission was here, they said that there is a political issue," - she said.

From January 2009 to April 2010 Belarus has taken an IMF loan of $ 3.6 billion. Peak of its repayment accounts for 2013.
