Vaskovich kept in isolation for one month

The lawyer of political prisoner Yaugen Vaskovich has told the details of the last 1,5 months of his client’s life.

The lawyer could meet with Vaskovich on 10 September after numerous ungrounded refusals, the press-service of the Belarusian Christian Democracy reports.

According to the lawyer, Yaugen Vaskovich has spent 30 days in an isolation cell; three times ten days each between 2 August and 1 September. He was placed there for the first time for having taking a nap during the day time; two other times – for disobedience.

”Obviously, Yaugen is being pressed since he has refused to sign the pardon appeal,” Dzianis Sadouski, the executive secretary of the Belarusian Christian Democract, said.

After the isolation cell, the political prisoner looks very pale, thin and exhausted. One month in the isolation cell has been hard for him and his health.

Yaugen said that during the last six months he has only received letters from his mother and grandmother. Letters from other relatives don’t reach him. But he asks to keep on writing and sending registered letters, any support is very important to him.
