Barroso: EU should become federation

It should not be "a supranational super state".
President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso expressed his view of the future EU on September 12. He made a speech about the future of the European Union at a session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
"It will be a union in the name of friend states, not against friend states", - noted the President of the European Commission. Barroso supported the enhancement of European integration and the delegation of power from EU national governments to Brussels and the European Commission. Europe will need to change the main agreements for it. José Manuel Barroso hopes that the preparation for it will be finished by 2014 when new EU parliamentary elections will be held, informs ITAR-TASS.
