Zmitser Shukhrai detained in Brest

A coordinator of the organizing committee to create Belarusian Christian Democracy party in the Brest region was detained by police.

Zmitser Shukhrai was taken to the Leninski district police department of Brest.

Radio Svaboda received this information from human rights activist Raman Kislyak.

“Zmitser Shukhrai was detained at the central bus station in Brest at 7:15 p.m. He was convoyed to the Leninski district police department to check publisher’s information of the printed materials he allegedly had.  He probably had materials relating to a boycott of the parliamentary election.” He said.

BCD coordinator in the Brest region Zmitser Shukhrai is a member of Brest democratic coalition Spadchyna, which joined the boycotting campaign.

The activist was released after spending 3 hours in the police department.
