September 16 marked 13 years since the disappearance of Viktar Ganchar and Anatoly Krasousky.

Victar Ganchar, who originally was in the team of Aliaxandar Lukashenka and after that went into opposition, and Anatoly Krasouski disappeared on Sept. 16, 1999. In the evening they went to the bathhouse, located at Fabrichnaja street 20 in Minsk. The last time they were seen at about 22.35 when the two left the building and got into be "Jeep Cherokee" of Krasouski

A criminal investigation into the disappearance of Ganchar and Krasouski were initiated by Minsk prosecutor’s office. According to the investigation, during the inspection of the neighborhood were found fragments of plastic lenses of light signal devices of the car, traces of braking and hitting a tree, traces of blood. Results of genotype examination showed that the origin of the traces of blood from Krasouski is excluded, and the reliability of conclusions about the origin from Ganchar is 99.6%. Analysis of the evidences in the case, including the testimony of witnesses, suggests that Ganchar and Krasouski were forcibly abducted by unknown persons.

Opposition members, relatives of the missing person and the international community believe that Ganchar and Krasouski were kidnapped for political reasons, and suspect senior officials in involvement in the kidnapping.
