Stanislau Shushkevich: Our task is to change the authorities

The First leader of independent Belarus was not released from the country to the opening of the office of charter97.org in Warsaw.

Stanislau Shushkevich is still in the list of those who are denied traveling from Belarus because of his criticism of the government.

But his address has been read at the opening ceremony of charter97.org office.

"Dear friends!

I am proud to be one of the first who has signed the Declaration of Charter'97. I am deeply aware of how necessary and important this activity is. I am convinced that Charter'97 site - is the best site of Belarus. It is very versatile, and preaches peace and healthy relationships in opposition. Because the tasks of the site - the opposition to the dictator and the change of the political system. I absolutely agree with its firm position that we cannot have any businesses with the dictator Lukashenka until the release and rehabilitation of all political prisoners," - wrote Stanislau Shushkevich.
