Stanislau Shushkevich: Makei flew to show off

Telling stories about good  life in Belarus is a direct duty of the new foreign minister.

The first head of independent Belarus, Stanislau Shushkevich, comments for charter97.org on the information that the new Belarusian foreign minister, Uladzimir Makei, will take part in the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 25 - October 1.

“Makei flew to show off. He will say how everything is good in Belarus and what democracy we have in the country. This is his work,” Stanislau Shushkevich says.

“Though Makei is on the EU and US blacklist, it does not limit his opportunities to visit the UN. Even worse persons have been there,” the first head of independent Belarus noted.

We remind Belarusian MFA spokesman Andrei Savinykh told journalists on September 20 that Uladzimir Makei would participate in the 67th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 25 - October 1, 2012 . According to Savinykh, the Belarusian MFA head “is expected to deliver a speech at a high-level meeting to present Belarus’ position on the most urgent issues of the international agenda”.
