Imprisoned for boycott even after the elections

Dvaretski brothers are sentenced to 3 days in prison.

They were put to trial in the Partisan district’s court according to the article 23.4 of the Administrative Code – insubordination to the police. On Saturday they were detained while hanging out stickers calling to boycott the elections.

Alexei and Andrei Dvaretskiya spent two days in prison in Akrestsina street in Minsk.

The trial was held by the judge Mariana Valchkova, the human right center Viasna reports.

First witness was a conscript soldier of the interior troops service Khlebavets. He said that he saw the guys sticking the stickers “boycott” and asked them to follow him. The Dvaretski brothers allegedly tried to escape but then calmed down. The insubordination was manifested in them first not stopping and then trying to escape. The second witness was Anatol Navapoltsau.

Alexei and Andrei Dvaretskiya are supposed to be free tomorrow at 17.00.
