Volski’s concert in “Art-Siadziba” cancelled: the premises sealed

The new “Art-Siadziba” is closed before it had a chance to open.

The Liavon Volski’s concert which was supposed to happen in the new premises of the “Art-Siadziba” art platform was relocated to the BPF’s office.

The concert starts at 18.30. A saxophonist and a flutist Paval Arakelian will also take part in the concert, Radio Svaboda reports.

A day before the event officials from the Ministry for Emergency Situations sealed the premises, where the presentation was about to take place.

“Yesterday in the evening I came to the building and saw the doors were sealed. I immediately called the owner, who confirmed that he had been called to the building at the door was sealed in his presence by the MES’s people”, - the art-director Paval Belavus said.

“It’s all very simple: on Wednesday there was an article on generation.by which said that the “Art-Siadziba” would open in a new place and its first even would be a meeting with Liavon Volski on Friday. The article was reposted around the internet and it was read by “certain people” who called the administration of the Frunze district, which immediately panicked and sent the MES to the premises and the owner of the building was faced with the fact that the new tenants of the premises are undesirable. So today we cancelled the agreement and the new “Art-Siadziba” is closed before it even had a chance to open. This is such a chain reaction”.

We would remind that Liavon Volski is on the list of the musicians forbidden in Belarus.
