Constituency electoral commission acknowledged the Brest cleaning lady as a violation

This way the commission disproved the Central Electoral Commission’s conclusions.

We would remind that an appeal on the cleaning lady entering a polling station after its closer for filed by an observer from the Belarusian Helsinki Committee Aliaksei Koutun. In the response that he received the fact is of the presence of an outsider at the polling station after its closure acknowledged. This is qualified as an electoral legislation violation which “didn’t influence the election results”. The head of the polling station commission was noted that it’s inadmissible to let this happen again. The response is sign by the head of the Brest-Pagranichny 4 constituency’s electoral commission Zaitsava, Euroradio reports.

Mr Koutun, however, is not really happy about that:

“Everyone states what one wants. The constituency commission responds “There was a violation”. The Central Commission says there wasn’t. The authorities had one goal – to ensure the turnout, ensure a certain result. Who would do that and in which ways was not important. There was one goal – to “make” the elections”.

The observer highlights that no one knows how many people besides the cleaning lady had a key to the polling station premises.

We would remind that on 20 September Aliaksai Koutun filmed a cleaning lady entering the polling station 47 in the Brest-Pagranichny 4 constituency. There was no one around. In the response that he receive from the Central Electoral commission it was stated that “there were the head of the polling station commission and a policeman so there was no violation”.
