Officers of Zheleznodorozhny police department tried to detain Vitebsk opposition leader, because in Vitebsk is being shot a film about Chagall.

Independent activist and distributor of independent press, Baris Khamajda, as usual, was standing under white-red-white umbrella near the house № 28 on Lenin Street. As soon as he laid out newspapers and magazines on a table, the police came, reports "Radio Svaboda".

"I was told to go to the police station. They said they have already summoned a car for me, because Russians here in the city make a movie, and I'm on their the way ... I was surprised: I stand on Lenin Street, the film is being shot on Suvorov Street, it is 500 meters away from me, at least. Besides, Marc Chagall - my compatriot, so how will I stop the filming? I'm not going to go there so they could film me ", - said Baris Khamajda.

According to the activist, the police began to consult with someone on the phone. Then they said, "Well, you can stay here, for now". And they left.

Baris Khamajda does not exclude that they wanted simply to remove him from the city center, so he could not be seen by curious Russian filmmakers.

They film in Vitebsk "Petersburg" scenery for the film, tentatively titled "Miracle of Chagall."
