“Parliament”: Idlers law to be there

The draft of the government’s decision on introducing the idlers law has been prepared.

The “parliament” reported today that a draft of the government’s decision has been prepared that provides for collecting payments from the citizens, who do not work and do not participate in forming the budget income by the means of paying taxes, but are at the same time consumers of social services.

“Currently the issue is being considered in the parliament of introducing a payment due by the citizens, who do not participate in forming the budget income by paying taxes, since they are not officially employed anywhere, but nevertheless do use budget financed collective goods”, - the head of the Finance Ministry’s chief department for financing social security and science programs Sviatlana Kretava stated on Tuesday at the “House of Representatives”.

She added that a draft was prepared for the respective government’s decision.

It was the vice-Prime Minister Anatol Tozik, who in December last year suggested to take measures against the country’s citizens. “We have around 400 thousand people of those, who do not work or officially do not work, evading taxes and by that parasitizing the state’s social policy”, - the vice-Prime Minister claimed.

It is worth noting that many Belarusians do not have an official place of employment or take seasonal jobs abroad. First of all this concerns the workers in the construction field.
