Miasnikovich demands to put all the effort in fighting imports

Belarusian authorities intend to use all the instruments for fighting imports of consumer goods.

Belarus’ Prime-Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich said that at a government meeting today, his press-service reports.

“All the instruments of economic regulation should be used in the center and the regions in order to reduce the foreign currency outflow as much as possible. For the consumer group of goods alone the increase in imports accounted for practically 29% in nine months. This means that we are giving up our own market, including to unconscientious importers”, - Miasnikovich claimed.

He demanded from the responsible state agencies to “take comprehensive measures for putting the consumer market in order”.

Apart from that the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Trade and region executive committee have been tasked with organizing inspections of the compliance to the anti-monopoly legislation regarding the goods, the prices for which exceed the prognostic inflation rates.
