Man arrested for slogan “Belarus without dictatorship” released (Video)

Leanid Smouzh, who was detained on November 10, was released from a detention centre in Akrestsin Street.

A worker from Stoubtsy was detained after a rally in Loshytsa district. He attended the event wearing a T-shirt with the slogal “For Belarus without dictatorship”.

Leanid Smouzh was tried in Minsk's Leninski district court on November 11. The activist was accused of resisting police officers. Judge Nadzeya Navitskaya sentenced him to five days in custody. The policemen who detained the activist gave false evidence against him.

Leanid Smouzh said he didn't belong to political parties. The man said he put on a T-shirt with the slogan “For Belarus without dictatorship” as a sign of protest against injustice – he cannot find a job for several years.

Journalists of Public Television of Russia met the activist outside the detention facility and covered his release.
