Corruption and frauds in social housing construction (Video)

30

A block of flats for social security beneficiaries in Senitsa is being constructed for 7 years.

Charter97.org learnt it from activist Aliaksandr.

“They have been building our block of flats in Senitsa since 2006. It is a social housing for rescuers, army officers, police officers and families with many children. I work as a rescuer. I joined the housing cooperative in 2010, when it was headed by colonel lieutenant of the interior ministry Bahdanovich. He worked slow and stole money, so we elected another head. The problems didn't end. There was a deputy head who had been the director of the organisation which is now called Monolitgrad. I began to dig up information on him and found documents confirming that he hindered the construction process. He was dismissed as well,” he said.

The man says one square metre cost 3 million in 2010 and 6 million in December 2012. The head of the building society hides from society members that one square metre costs 9.2 million rubles now.

“The head of the housing cooperative delays construction works. We elected him, but he wasn't approved for year. He began to attend meetings only in August. People poured dirt on the internet on my family and me for our activity. I filed complaints to the Economic Crime Department and a prosecutor's office, but they gave formal replies. My wife and me visited Lukashenka's administration, the State Control Committee, met with Makei, who said our house was under strict control. The head of the State Control Committee for the Minsk region promised Yakabson that the construction would be completed this November. Construction works resumed. They built walls. In November, 4.5 billion were given to install windows. Some windows are absent today, there are no window frames on balconies. The organisation responsible for windows owes us 3 billion. We were to receive keys on November 29. They deceived us again,” Aliaksandr said.

It's worth noting that it is not the first case of deceiving members of housing construction cooperatives.
