Alienievich’s “Going to Magadan” translated into four languages

The translations of political prisoner Ihar Alienievich’s were prepared to the third anniversary of his arrest.

Publishing house “Radical theory and practice” announced a new edition of Ihar Alienievich’s “Going to Magadan” book, the abc-belarus.org web-site reports.

Belarusian political prisoner’s diary is not only of demand with Russian speaking audience. The book has been translated into Belarusian, Serbo-Croatian, Polish, English, the translation into German is ongoing, French and Spanish comrades also expressed interest in the book.

In the near future the release of the audio version of the book in Russian will take place. Former political prisoner and Ihar’s friend Aliaksandr Frantskievich agreed to read out most interesting excerpts from the book, which is available on the internet in different formats.

We would remind that on 28 November 2010 the activist of the anarchist movement Ihar Alienievich was kidnapped in Moscow and taken to Belarus by FSB agents. On 27 May 2011 the judge of Minsk’s Zavadski district Zhana Khvajnitskaja sentenced him to 8 years in high security prison. He is now serving the time of the punishment in the colony number 10 in Navapolatsk, which is nototious for its bad conditions. He as well as Mikalaj Dziadok and Aliaksandr Frantskievich were accused of organizing a procession near the Defense Ministry building, making attacks at Shangri La casino and the detention center in Akrestsina Street and also of setting on fire the doors of Belarusbank’s branch office.
