Detained participants of Stop-Tax action sentenced to arrests and fines

Courts passed judgments on the protocols, composed against the people, detained at the Stop-Tax action in Minsk.

The court of Minsk’s Central district fined Anastasija Kukhto for 5 basic units, the human rights center Viasna reports.

The court of the Central district also considered the administrative cases of a former political prisoner Aliaksandr Frantskievich and Anastasija Shaciernik. They were also detained in the course of the action of motorists Stop-Tax in Minsk. The judge Viktoryja Shabunia sentenced Aliaksandr Frantskievich to a 12-day arrest. Anastasija Shaciernik was fined for 10 basic units.

In the court of Minsk´s Lenin district the hearing of the adminsitrative cases of car owners Kanstantsin Hlushko and Andrej Samokhin took place on 23 December.

They were charged with insubordination to police (article 23.4 of the Code of Administrative Conduct of the Republic of Belarus), the human rights center Viasna reports.

The young men were detained in the course of the event that took place on Friday the young men were. They spent the weekend in the jail in Akrescina Street.

The judge Andrej Kamushkin sentenced Kanstantsin Hlushko to an administrative arrest for 5 days. The legal proceedings were dropped against Andrej Samokhin, who was Hlushko’s passanger.

We would remind that at 18.00 on 20 December car owners came to Niezalezhnasci Avenue in Minsk protesting against the introduction of a transport tax in 2014. The calls for an action had been posted on social networks several days beforehand.
