A lawyer of Porsche driver Andrei Zababura, who was sentenced to 4 years in a low-security correctional facility for killing a schoolboy in a car accident, has appealed against the court decision.
Charter97.org received this information from Ihar Papkouski, the lawyer of the Porsche driver.
The defence didn't plan to file an appeal, but the driver insisted. He was said earlier that he “doesn't want to raise this question: too much dirt was poured on him and his family”. According to the lawyer, there are “enough strong grounds to appeal against the sentence”.
Porsche Cayenne driver Andrei Zababura ran over third grader Uladzislau Hrudzyeu from secondary school No 23 in Minsk in November last year. He was sentenced to four years in a low-security correctional facility. The director of a private firm, 38, was found guilty of violating part 2 of article 317 of the Criminal Code (traffic rules violation that caused the death of another person by negligence).
This punishment (four years in a low-security correctional facility) was proposed by prosecutor Iryna Laptsevich on February 13.
