12:49, — Events

A demining team was called to Brest State University this morning.

Alarm was caused by an unattended bag in the main university building, Radio Racyja reports.

A university teacher says about the incident:

“I approached the building and saw a mob of people. No one was allowed to enter. A police car, a fire truck and an emergency ambulance were standing near the entrance. As it was figured out, a bag was found, but it contained nothing dangerous. People were allowed to enter the university building at 10:15 p.m.”

The unattended item was identified and the university resumed its work. According to Virtual Brest website, security measures were reinforced in Brest after a grenade exploded in a waste container at the recycling plant. Since the accident, all suspicious items have been handled with special care.
