Early 20th century country house being destroyed in Homel

The historic building is being destroyed despite the ban of the Ministry of Culture.

The estate of the early 20th century is situated at 17 Valatauskaya Street, Radio Racyja reports.

Activists say a door lock was broken and oak floor boards were removed from some rooms. Someone already prepared a heap of brick for removal.

The estate of the former college of music is being destroyed while the Ministry of Culture is considering a question of giving the status of cultural heritage to the building. According to city legends, duchess Irina Paskevich, a prominent patron, spent her last days in the house.
