The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and Sweden hold talks on resuming the work of the Swedish embassy in Minsk.
The statement was made by Belarusian MFA's spokesman Andrei Savinykh at a a briefing on Thursday, Interfax reports.
“I can confirm that the MFAs of the two countries are discussing the matter, but it is too early to speak about results,” Savinykh said.
“We need time to create the conditions to make positive decisions,” he added.
As charter97.org already reported, lifting travel restrictions from Belarusian officials, including Belarusian foreign minister Uladzimir Makei, may be considered as a condition for resuming the work of the Swedish embassy in Minsk.
