There will be no criminal case against Bulhakau

The former editor of the ARCHE magazine received the official reply to his appeal to the Department of Financial Investigations for Minsk and Minsk region.

The deputy head of the DFI for Minsk and Minsk region Bacevichus responds that “according to the outcomes of the inspection, undertaken by the DFI of the State Control Committee for Minsk region and Minsk city, the motion to filed criminal case against you according to the article 243 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus was denied”, the press-service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists reports.

In the letter they also suggest Valer Bulhakau is offered to come to the Department of Financial Investigation to “decide the fate of the magazines”, which belong to him.

Bacevichus sent a similar letter to the private company Inbelkult (the former publisher of the magazine, on behalf of which the appeal was submitted).

Both documents date back to 9 April.

The requests to the DFI were sent after the information appeared on the refusal to file a criminal case according to the outcomes of the inspection of the institution “ARCHE magazine’s editorial office”: the representatives of the editorial office wanted to receive official documents on that matter.
