“Slave” workers run from plants

Workers resort to extreme measures to terminate their employment agreements.

Salidarnast newspaper writes that people run from plants in Baranavichy, where they earn 3 million rubles, to Russia for work.

In an effort to change a job, workers, who signed employment agreements and have to work for the fixed period of time, enter into conflict with the plant management.

A 40-year-old worker, the father of three children, decided to go to Russia for work. He asked the plant authorities to terminate his employment agreement, but was denied. The man decided to violate the regulation No. 1.

He appeared drunk at work, but was gently reprimanded for the first time. He was criticised for the second drunk appearance, but was not fired. Next time, the man went to work drunk with the aim not to appear at the plant any more.

But he was told he would not be sacked. Desperate, the worker tried to leave the plant through the checkpoint, but was stopped. He then ran to the fence, but was caught by security guards. The man had to work his shift, but never went to the plant again. He later received back his employment record book without problems.

The conclusion can be made that “slave” decree No. 9  cannot hinder employees from quitting their job. People need something real instead of papers of regulations and decrees.
