Tereza Strzelec allowed to leave Belarus

Belarus has allowed Polish citizen Tereza Strzelec to leave the country.

The information was spread by the press service of the State Customs Committee of Belarus.

“Belarus has taken a decision today to lift the restrictions on exit from the country for Strzelec on humanitarian grounds. She can leave the Republic of Belarus at any time,” the State Customs Committee reports.

It was reported in the middle of March that Polish citizen Tereza Strzelec was banned from leaving Belarus.

A year ago Tereza Strzelec went on excursion to Minsk. Her car broke down and she left it at a repair shop. A son of the mechanic used the car without permission of the owner and was detained by police. The car was confiscated and sent to a customs warehouse. A Belarusian court ruled in January that the car must be returned to the owners.

The problem is that customs officers sold Tereza Strzelec's car before the court proceedings. The Polish citizen was offered to get money back with the customs duties and taxes cut out of the sum. She refused to pay and the Belarusian party annulled her visa having detained her on the territory of our country. Tereza Strzelec went on hunger strike in the Polish Consulate in Brest on April 8.
