Lukashenka has reshuffled KGB officers.

The Belarusian ruler has appointed Ihar Siarheyenka first deputy chief of the KGB. Siarheyenka, a former head of the KGB directorate for the Mahilou region, replaced Viktar Viahera, who was dismissed.

Ihar Busko, a former head of the KGB directorate for Brest, has been appointed deputy KGB chief.

Both KGB's new deputy chiefs were put on the EU blacklist for their involvement in political repression.

Viachaslau Yazerski has been appointed head of the KGB directorate for the Brest region.

Aliaksandr Neviarouski has been appointed head of the KGB directorate for the Mahilou region.

New officials were appointed in the State Border Committee, the Investigation Committee, prosecution agencies and other bodies.
