Civil servants to be laid off, but keep their perks

Laid-off government officials will be given another job and will not lose their perks.

This conclusion can be drawn from decree No. 168 “On the measures to optimise the system of government agencies and other state-run organizations as well as the number of their personnel” signed by Lukashenka on April 12.

The decree announces a 25% reduction in the personnel of government agencies and organisation.

According to previous information, the remaining civil servants will get a significant increase in pay.

The redundant government officials will have a moratorium on home construction/reconstruciton loans and the loans on the first university education for their children for a period of 12 months since the moment of dismissal until they find a job. They also will get the right to receive medical treatment in the healthcare facilities they were assigned to before the dismissal.
