Residents of Salihorsk demand new polyclinic

Residents of Salihorsk demand new polyclinic

Almost 700 people signed the on-line petition for the construction of a new modern polyclinic in Salihorsk.

Among them there are residents of Salihorsk, other cities of Belarus, and even foreign nationals. The initiator of the petition is the local human rights defender Aliaksei Valabuyeu.

"The present polyclinic is designed to accept 680 visitors a day, whereas in fact there are thrice more. According to the Constitution, "the state creates the conditions of free medical aid to all citizens". However, Salihorskers have to spend hours in queues in order to get medical aid.

The authorities aren't totally indifferent to the issue. In particularly, they stated that a branch of the present polyclinic would be opened in Maladziozhnaya Street. However, such half-measures can hardly solve the issue.

In order to facilitate the prompt resolution of the issue, the activists printed out the signatures and filed the petition to the authorities: the head of Salihorsk District Executive Committee, the Minister of Health Care, the head of the Commission on Health Care at the Chamber of Representatives, as well as deputies to the Chamber of Representatives from two Salihorsk constituencies.
