Ales Bialatski thanked Loreen for support

The political prisoner wrote a letter with a gratitude to the Eurovision-2012 winner Loreen, who repeatedly demonstrated her solidarity with the human rights defender and his family.

“Dear Loreen. I really want to thank you for the moral support that you gave me last year when visiting Minsk, and this year during the international human rights meeting in Stockholm. I am very pleased with the human attention on your part to my fate and the fate of my family. I want to tell you that constant support addressed to me, my wife and son lets me better bear the difficult situation, in which I am now. But they also need support. That is why your meeting with my wife Natalla was so important to me. With your attention and the open position on human rights you turn to the better the stereotype about a stage singer that there exists. I also like breaking stereotypes and we are similar in that. For a whole year the local radio station played your song from time to time. And each time I received a part of your energy”, - he wrote.

We would remind that Loreen is the winner of the song contest Eurovision-2012 from Sweden. During her visit to Belarus in July 2012 she met Natalla Pinchuk, the wife of a political prisoner Ales Bialatski. And this year during a performance in the framework of events on the Human Rights Defenders Days, held by Civil Rights Defenders at the beginning of April in Stockholm, Loreen send a hello to the Belarusian political prisoner from the stage. The head of the human rights group Viasna, a vice-president of the International Federation on Human Rights (FIDH) was detained on 4 August 2011 and sentenced for his human rights activities to 4.5 years in prison on a politically motivated case.
