Football fans: Riot policemen jumped on our heads and backs

Policemen brutally beat supporters of the capital’s Partisan football club, who were going to a game in Asipovichy.

The incident happened on the eve of the game that took place on 20 April. Partisan’s fans told about it on the club’s page on the social network Vkontakte.

Around ten supporters with police convoy were going from Minsk on electric train. At the station Viarkhi they came out of the train to wait for their friends. Policemen left the electric train too having warned that further to Asipovichy they fans would be convoyed by other policemen.

In half an hour a car came to the station. The policemen, who were in the car, told that the fans would further go by bus.

“An absolutely usual bus arrived, but for some reason turned to a forest. We went to it. The greys in the back, us 0 in front. As we approached closer we saw as riot police jumped out of the bus. They all wore masks. They jumped on us. It was a mess. Someone tried to step back, but policemen formed a line there”, - one of the participants writes.

All the supporters were thrown in the bus.

“Then it was hell. They just started beating us, shouting “Are you, bitches in your fucking mind? We have to come pick you, bastards, up?”. Holding the railings, they jumped on the heads and backs. Then they started taking people out one by one for a body search: you run out, take everything out of the pockets, sneakers, even insoles. Then you face the bus and there comes another beating. Someone is already groaning near the bus, someone is lying on the ground not able to get up. It all was accompanied with shouts “You are freaks, not people”, Then – again to the bus. We sat exclusively with our faces hidden in our knees”, - a Partisan supporter writes.

After that the riot policemen made everyone sign an explanation letter, which claimed they had not used force.

Naturally, the supporters missed the game. They were convoyed to an electric train, which went to Minsk.
