Are they trying poisoning Mikalaj Statkievich in prison?

Prison warders give the political prisoner food in separate specially marked plates.

The political prisoner’s wife Maryna Adamovich reported about that, Radio Svaboda reports.

Last week she said that there were provocations against Mikalaj Statkievich in the prison in Mahilou. The political prisoner’s spouse, however, did not know the details. Now information appeared which casts a bit more light on what is happening there.

“He asked himself to tell publicly about the provocations, which had been performed. He was repeatedly served food in separate, specially marked plates. They persistently slipped him these plates. He ironically asked the wardens whether they wanted to poison him. It is clear, that there may be many versions, but he insisted that this would become public”, - she stated.

According to Maryna Adamovich, Mikalaj Statkievich refused from the food, when it was served in dishes, marked specially for him.

Mikalaj Statkievich was one of the presidential candidates in 2010. He was arrested after the mass manifestation of protest against the rigged elections results. Over 700 participants of the manifestation were arrested then, including presidential candidates Andrej Sannikau, Uladzimer Niaklaeu, Ales Michalevic and the members of their teams.
