Journalists Barbarych and Jarashevich accused of insubordination to police

Genadz Barbarych and Aliaksandr Jarashevich, who were detained during the manifestation Charnobyl Way in Minsk, are accused of insubordination to policemen.

They told that to the press-secretary of the Belarusian Association of Journalists Barys Haretski in the capital’s detention center in Akrestsina street, where the detained are kept.

Haretski visited the detention center on Saturday with the common-law wife of one of the detained. However, they refused to take the parcel for the detained in the center. They claimed there that journalists will only be able to receive parcels after the trial on Monday, the BAJ’s press-service reports.

The journalists were detained after the manifestation Charnobyl Way, authorized by Minsk authorities, from which they broadcasted and they also had journalist certificates on them.
