BCD activist threatened with criminal case

Aleh Aksionau, a coordinator of the BCD organising committee in Mahilou, has been warned for “carrying out activity on behalf of an unregistered organisation”.

The Mahilou-based coordinator of the organising committee to found the Belarusian Christian Democracy party has been summoned to the KGB today.

BCD organising committee co-chairman Vital Rymasheuski told charter97.org that the activist was warned for “activity on behalf of an unregistered organisation”.

The opposition activist was earlier put on the KGB watch list for “carrying out activity on behalf of an unregistered organisation”. A criminal case may be opened against the activist if he receives three warnings.

It should be reminded that the activist applied to a court complaining about adding him to the KGB watch list and trying to prove it was done illegally.
