Charter97.org website blocked on Plant of Tractor Parts in Babruisk

Access to our website has been blocked on Babruisk's biggest plant.

Charter97.org has learnt it from website readers.

This information was confirmed on the plant.

“Yes, your website is really not available,” said after a check a staff member in the office of Aliaksandr Ahranovich, director of the Babruisk Plant of Tractor Plant.

The reason for such a decision, which was an initiative of the automation control system department, was not called. Representatives of the department, for their part, said the website was added to the blacklist in order that personnel “don't read it” and hung up.

The decision to block access to the site was taken a month after charter97.org had published an article about persecution of independent trade union activists on the plant.

The Plant of Tractor Parts and Units produces components and units for the whole line of tractors made at Minsk Tractor Plant. It is Babruisk's biggest enterprise, employing more than 3,500 people.

According to Lukashenka's  scandalous decree No. 60 adopted in 2010, access to blacklisted websites can be blocked only in governmental agencies or educational and cultural organisations.
