Litter pick under police surveillance

Democratic activists of the town of Belazersk were cleaning up the local recreation area under close surveillance of police.

Police came to watch a litter pick in the recreation zone near Lake Belaye in Belazersk. Fourteen activists of the campaign Tell the Truth, the Belarusian Social Democratic Party (Hramada) and the free trade union have been cleaning the recreation zone for a few recent years, Viasna human rights centre reports.

Other people joined the activists to collect 16 100-litre bin bags.

Policemen were filming the working process from their car.

The activists continued to work.
