Belarusian Alex Halchanyuk help U.S. to defeat Russia - 8:3

The match has been played in Helsinki today. Russia has shamefully dropped out of the championship.

The U.S. national team defeated Russians with confidence – 8:3 (2:1, 2:0, 4:2).One of the goals was shot by an American originating from Belarus – 19-year-old Alex Halchanyuk.

Thus, the American team has become the first team to have reached the semifinal while Russians have left the championship too early (the Russian team won the championship last year).

There more quarter-finals will be played today – Canada – Sweden, Finland – Slovakia and Switzerland – the Czech Republic.
