304

Security guards of Korona hypermarket brutally beat a customer who tried to defend his friend on May 9.

About 23:00, Aliaksandr Vashkevich and his friend Dzianis Loktseu went to the hypermarket. Dzianis took some nuts from an open box. This fact attracted attention of security guards. They waited for him at the aisle end near  the fifth checkout counter, the website of Platform human rights organisation reports.

Aliaksandr and Dzianis approached the guards who displayed a keen interest in the guys. They said they didn't have claims to Aliaksandr and ordered Dzianis to follow them without giving any reasons. Aliaksandr didn't want to leave his friend alone and asked if he could go with the guards too.

The security guards rudely ordered Aliaksandr to get out. Suspicious, he decided not to leave his friend and faced even a more aggressive reaction.

Aliaksandr followed Dzianis and the security guards.

The went 10 or 15 metres along aisles when he heard someone shouting “Catch him” and got some blows to his stomach.

Aliaksandr was dragged in the staff area behind the metal doors. An unknown man in a tracksuit was waiting for him in one of the rooms. Aliaksandr was handcuffed with his hands behind his back and thrown into the room.

The man ordered to close the door. Aliaksandr didn't even noticed who was the first to kick him in the head. He says five or seven furious security guards both in uniform and civilian clothes began to beat him. They held his hands when he tried to protect his head from punches and kicks. The men tried to hit him in the head.

Aliaksandr Vashkevich had a concussion, bruises on the face and a fracture of the spinous process of the sixth cervical vertebrae.

Human  rights activists and Aliaksandr are waiting for developments of the situation.

Representatives of Korona hypermarket have not apologized to Aliaksandr yet.
