KGB reports about capture of big bribe-taker

Man in Minsk arrested on suspicion of promising foreign investor to bribe government officials.

A Minsk resident has been arrested by the Committee for State Security (KGB) on suspicion of encouraging a foreign investor to bribe government officials over a mining project.

The man even received $330,000 from the unnamed company, pledging to hand the money to a government official in exchange for allowing the company to develop a granite deposit in the Homyel region, according to the KGB press office.

The suspect is expected to be charged with incitement to bribery.
