Radio Racyja journalists are refused accreditation

A journalist of Belarusian Radio Racyja from Hrodna Viktar Parfianenka was refused an accreditation for the fifth time.

The journalist have been sending papers for an official accreditation for five years and for five years has he been receiving a rejection from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the radio reports.

Last year Viktar Parfianenka filed an appeal on the case of the accreditation, but in an official response the employees of the agency referred to farfetched regulations, which directly contradict the country’s Constitution – Belarus’ main law, which guarantees citizens the right to disseminate and acquire information.

“I have the intention to apply for an accreditation once again. Either the Ministry of Foreign Affairs finally legalizes me, or it will keep showing its real attitude towards the freedom of speech”, - Parfianenka believes.
