Lukashenka: God forbid that there are social tensions among employees of enterprises

The ruler warned the Prime Minister Miasnikovich of “social tensions” because of declining exports.

Lukashenka claimed that he did not accept the government’s position, according to which the main reason for declining sales volumes is Russia’s entering the WTO, Interfax reports.

“One should not tell that Russia entered the WTO or that Europe and Russia are struck by a crisis. We have known about that for long, this is all as old as the world. And it is just laughable to refer that we cannot compete in Russia with goods from all over the world”, - the dictator said, when opening a meeting on the problematic issued of the industrial complex and selling of Belarusian products.

“Who is the first partner in terms of the export of our goods? Who? Do not you know?”, - Lukashenka said, addressing the Prime Minister Mikhail Miasnikovich. The head of the government responded to that: “The main partner is the Russian Federation. We are gradually increasing the sales volumes with the European Union”, - he said.

The ruler asked to specify: “What is the proportion?”. “The proportion is close to 50х50”, - the Prime Minister responded.

In this regard Lukashenka stated that “the European Union gets the same proportion of exports today as Russia”. “So what, the European Union entered the WTO yesterday? We sold there the same amount of goods as to Russia, with competition”, - he stated. “Here are all your factors and references to the Russian WTOship (Russian membership in the WTO -Interfax)”, - Lukashenka claimed.

Apart from that he noted: “The fact is a fact – we can see the increase of stock. I would like to hear if it is true. I would also like to hear of the quantities increase and financial, if there is any”, - the ruler claimed.

Lukashenka also stated that “we are chasing volumes today and increasing the stock by that”. “Is this a fact? This is a fact”, - he emphasized.

“And as the result: God forbid that there are social tensions among employees of enterprises”, - the ruler concluded.

By the way, recently Lukashenka himself blamed the decrease in sales and the crisis in the economy on Russia and the EU.

“Especially this concerns our traditional markets. Russia has sagged a bit, and the European Union has been in a fever. So we are compelled to look for new markets for our goods. In these uneasy conditions the National Bank not simply holds the positions that we had in the best times, but adds up to that”, - he would say.

We would remind that several days ago entrepreneurs in Viciebsk held a strike. Conflicts between workers and administration were reported of from a number of Belarusian enterprises.
